Today I’ll be showing you how to determine the best keywords to use that are relevant to your website, product, or whatever you want to bring visitors in.
Here are ten steps to follow
Step 1 Keyword Tool
Search for the keyword tool. I don’t use bookmarks, and I highly recommend you try out this site, sounds like it, but it provides free regular search for the top keywords. You can put the URL into a keyword tool within the word tracker.
Step 2 Keyword Density
You can use this tool to determine how many times it is in your text. This is key if you want to get ranked highly in the search engines. I would recommend putting the keyword in the text once or twice depending on the length of the text.
Step 3 Keyword Position
Ideally, you want your keyword in the title tag, in the first sentence, and the last sentence. You want to use the keyword as close to the beginning of the sentence as possible.
Step 4 Keyword Density – Title Tag
If the keyword you want to use is in the title tag at least you don’t want it to be too short. Put the keyword in the title tag between 1-2 is a good place, but don’t stuff it.
Step 5 Keyword Density – URL
When you create your website you should choose your keywords. You can enter the keywords into this box, and it will show you how many times that keyword is found on your website.
Step 6 Keyword Density – Heading Tags
The heading tags go from H1-H6, with H1 being the most important. Use H1 tags for the main keyword and any other important keywords.
Step 7 Keyword Density – Bolding Italic
Use bold and italic for your main keywords. You don’t want to practice writing meaningless words.
Step 8 Keyword Density – Image Alt
If you are using images make sure you include the keywords in the image alt tags.
Step 9 Keyword Density – Heading tags
You want to make sure you place your keywords in your heading tags. It’s very important.
Step 10 Keyword Density – Internal Linking
This is one of the most important parts of on-page optimization. What you don’t want to do is make the text the same color as your background. Not only that, but you also don’t want to link all your pages from your home page to each other with your home page being the principal page.
You want to link one webpage to the other of the same page with the text of the other page as the link. So as an example if you are on the keyword tab page and you have given the name of your area the URL as your URL you want to name your other page / ropes.htm.
You want to include your keyword in the URL and name your other page / ropes.htm. Now you can associate the word ropes with the name of your area. Elevate is saying that you want to associate your name with your URL. In other words, you want to write /ropes.htm as your URL, and then you want to link your name to the URL.
Other things to consider
So what you have is onto your URL to associate your name to the link. That is one of the easier ways to optimize your site. I suggest doing this for all the links on your site. Don’t make the mistake of putting the www. in front of your URL. The search engines will see that as you are trying to deceive them.
You also want to link from your home page to your other pages. Especially your high traffic page which has a lot of sales offers and so on. You want to generate as many links to that high page as you can both internally and externally.
The next thing you want to do is you want to take the time to adjust the title tags on each of your website pages. Always make sure that they are relevant to the content of the respective page. This will help search engines see your pages and list them in their search results for the correct keywords.
Next, you want to make sure your site has an adequately set of keyword-rich links. Don’t settle for having reciprocal links as most websites do. You must try to obtain one-way links from other websites. If they link to you then you want to keep them. The search engines like one way link better than reciprocal links. Try to build at least ten good links to your website and you’ll benefit from the extra links your website will carry.
Try to use keywords and phrases from your website in the site’s title, meta tags, and in the site content. The search engines give more weight to this. They want to see other sites linking to yours and believe that it indicates that your site is a quality one.
